5th Annual Corporate Banking report
Last summer Bratislava hosted the most prestigious corporate banking event in Europe. Over 2 days of engaging activities and thought provoking discussion, representatives from top European banks met to discuss innovative strategies that would help their businesses thrive through the current economic crisis and emerge as leaders in post-crisis landscape at the 5th Annual Corporate Banking Europe conference.
The event welcomed more than 80 attendees, key decision makers representing top banks from all across Europe. Eight-teen speakers, a variety of insightful presentations, 3 focused panel discussions, a plethora of case studies, a special forum and numerous networking opportunities helped all the participants learn how to interpret the changing needs and expectations of different customer segments as well as market and sell diverse products and services, manage a portfolio of corporate relationships and implement business development strategies to promote growth and demonstrate value.

The two-day conference was opened by Mr. Ivan Mikloš, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance of the Slovak Republic. He is one of the leading figures of economic transformation in Slovakia, awarded the prestigious title of Finance Minister of the Year by Euromoney magazine in 2004 and named Top Business Reformer by the World Bank’s Doing Business report. He significantly contributed to the entry of Slovakia into the OECD and started an extensive and effective tax reform. Under his leadership Slovakia jumped to 32nd place (of 178 economies) on the ease of doing business index. Author of The Book of Reforms (2005) and Rewriting the Rule (2001), he is also the author of dozens of studies and articles in the expert and popular press.
